The corn maze/maize in Hondo

We went to the maze this past weekend - at least we didn't hear whispers coming though the corn saying "if you build it, he will come" LOL!

It was wonderful!  Looked just like the movies - there were even talking paintings in the castle that moved from one frame to another.  Thanks Mom and Dad!!!!

Our newest family member

This is Cruiser - he's a 5 y/o Sulcata tortoise that John and I adopted.....Sulcatas are the 3rd largest tortoise and he will eventually grow to be 150+lbs!!!  We fenced in part of a flower bed so he can roam around comfortably - for now!  His favorite food so far is Prickly Pear cactus - did you know it's great for humans too!  I have since learned a lot about the prickly pear and have eaten a few and even made juice!

We had a little flooding in Lytle - this was the "detour" I had to take to get on I-35....good thing I drive an SUV!

Aunt Cindy visit

Had a wonderful visit with Aunt Cindy!  We went downtown to the River Walk, ate yummy food, and took a stroll.  And of course, no trip to San Antonio is complete unless you see the Alamo!  I go look at it every time I'm downtown, don't think any Texan ever gets tired of her beauty and history.

We love living in the country, no telling what you will find when you walk out in our yard after dark!

This is Frogger, he's a huge toad that lives in a hole by our carport - we see him almost every night...sometimes we put him on the porch with us and we watch him eat all the bugs!
